We Are Woven

Working with cloth has been part of my family, life & my career. This piece amasses 54 mosaic swatches simulating cloth, created over one year. Some materials were donated from sisters, other family or friends; some swatches are reminiscent of certain people or places; some swatches are nostalgic & some are contemporary. Each square of 6 swatches thoughtfully combines materials evoking a sense, a place or a time; the 9 squares are connected as one with a framework. Materials: glazed & unglazed ceramic & dishware, porcelain, glass, stone, cut, chopped, tumbled, salvaged, vintage & new on handmade substrates.
